November 1, 2009 Equipe Jucão Takes First Place Trophy At Long Island Pride 7

New York, NY- Equipe Jucão took the first place trophy at theLong Island Pride Tournament Today; it was the first time since the founding of the Manhattan school a year ago that the team has taken first place. In addition, a majority of the competitors took first place in their divisions. Congratulations to all the team!

August 20, 2009 Two Surprise Promotions

New York - Professor Jucão sprung one of his surprises after tonight's very hot evening class: he promoted Victor Garcia and Anthony Mera to blue belt in front of a line of students ranked by belt, and was assisted by Professor Diego Pereira. Congratulations Victor and Anthony!

August 8, 2009 Equipe Jucão's Youngest Member Wins Double Gold

Bayville, New Jersey- Equipe Jucão's youngest member, JT Bierne, won two gold medals today at the New Jersey Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation's tournament. He won both the 80-95lb and the 96-115lb divisions. Congratulations JT!

November 11, 2008 Equipe Jucão Wins Another Trophy And Superfight Match At Pennsylvania BJJ Federation Tournament

Olyphant, Pennsylvania- Equipe Jucão, with only 6 competitors, took the third place trophy at the Pennsylvania BJJ Federation's tournament today. Three students won their division. The spectacular highlight of the day was brown belt Marcello Spinelli, who took the champions belt in his Superfight match. Pictures from the day are found in this album. September 13, 2008 Equipe Jucão Wins First Tournament Trophy

Islip, New York - Equipe Jucão won its first tournament trophy at the Long Island Pride BJJ Tournament today. After being open for only three months, and with only 10 fighters competing, the school won enough medals to win the third place team trophy.

August 10, 2008 Jucão Wins Two Divisions At World Jiu-Jitsu No Gi Championship

Los Angeles - Jucão Ailson Brites continued his streak of 2008 championship performances at this year's World Jiu-Jitsu No Gi Championship by taking gold medals in two divisions: Senior 2 Black Belt Heavyweight and Senior 2 open division. Jucão faced four world-class black belt opponents over the course of one afternoon.

Newark - Jucão Ailson Brites wins a second championship tournament in 7 days. At the 2008 NAGA World Championship Jucão took the belt in Expert Director's No Gi Division. Video of Jucão's final match can be seen here.

March 30, 2008 Jucão Wins Two Divisions At Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Los Angeles - Jucão Ailson Brites continued his champion performances at this year's Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championship by taking gold medals in two divisions: Senior 2 Black Belt Heavyweight and Senior 2 open division. Jucão faced six world-class black belt opponents over the course of one afternoon.

In the Senior 2 Black Belt Heavyweight division, Jucão faced three opponents. He won two of these matches by submission. In the Senior 2 Black Belt Open division, Jucão also faced three opponents. He submitted one of these opponents and won another by points. His final match was against his brother Admilson, who forfeited the match out of respect for his older brother.
