Olyphant, Pennsylvania- Equipe Jucão won its second trophy of 2009 at the the Pennsylvania Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation Tournament today. With 14 fighters the team took the 2nd place trophy. Full results to come.

April 18, 2009 Equipe Jucão Wins Gold At New York International Open Tournament

New York, New York- Equipe Jucão won six gold medals at the New York International Open Tournament today. This international tournament was very competitive and had a high level of fighting. Videos are on this playlist.

November 11, 2008 Equipe Jucão Wins Another Trophy And Superfight Match At Pennsylvania BJJ Federation Tournament

Olyphant, Pennsylvania- Equipe Jucão, with only 6 competitors, took the third place trophy at the Pennsylvania BJJ Federation's tournament today. Three students won their division. The spectacular highlight of the day was brown belt Marcello Spinelli, who took the champions belt in his Superfight match. Pictures from the day are found in this album. October 4, 2008 Equipe Jucão Wins Two Medals At First Pan Am No Gi Tournament

New York City - Equipe Jucão student Luis Gerena won a gold and silver medal in the first Pan Am No Gi Tournament. Luis won in both his weight division and the open division. Videos of some of Luis's fights are at our youtube page.

September 13, 2008 Equipe Jucão Wins First Tournament Trophy

Islip, New York - Equipe Jucão won its first tournament trophy at the Long Island Pride BJJ Tournament today. After being open for only three months, and with only 10 fighters competing, the school won enough medals to win the third place team trophy.

August 10, 2008 Jucão Wins Two Divisions At World Jiu-Jitsu No Gi Championship

Los Angeles - Jucão Ailson Brites continued his streak of 2008 championship performances at this year's World Jiu-Jitsu No Gi Championship by taking gold medals in two divisions: Senior 2 Black Belt Heavyweight and Senior 2 open division. Jucão faced four world-class black belt opponents over the course of one afternoon.

Newark - Jucão Ailson Brites wins a second championship tournament in 7 days. At the 2008 NAGA World Championship Jucão took the belt in Expert Director's No Gi Division. Video of Jucão's final match can be seen here.

March 30, 2008 Jucão Wins Two Divisions At Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Los Angeles - Jucão Ailson Brites continued his champion performances at this year's Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championship by taking gold medals in two divisions: Senior 2 Black Belt Heavyweight and Senior 2 open division. Jucão faced six world-class black belt opponents over the course of one afternoon.

In the Senior 2 Black Belt Heavyweight division, Jucão faced three opponents. He won two of these matches by submission. In the Senior 2 Black Belt Open division, Jucão also faced three opponents. He submitted one of these opponents and won another by points. His final match was against his brother Admilson, who forfeited the match out of respect for his older brother.
